I didn't get much chance to play over the weekend, but I was quite impressed with what I saw - great art, interesting quests/missions, lots of easter-egg type features, not to mention whole new mini games in the form of the arenas. Very nice.

I loved it! Especially the evil bunny, I heard about it in town and dismissed it as a joke. I saw it later and followed it, I was so surprised by the massive ammount of monsters I didnt even fight back lol.
In all honesty the only damper on my weekend was reading brian78wa's posts.
Edit: Btw Perfect Salvage kits are so FTW

GW:EN has become my favourite expansion already, hands down.
I love how they put so many references to Norse mythology into it without being copycats.
I love the Far Shiverpeaks area to pieces. I've never spent so much time in any game (including the previous GW parts) just running around, admiring the landscape, exploring the map and - of course - killing stuff.
I love Vekk, Jora and Olaf.
I love the humourous references they've put in. A quest called "Worthy Deeds (Done Dirt Cheap)"? C'mon, that's just hilarious!
I love the dungeons, the talking NPCs, the reputation system (Well, yes, it's grind - but it's fun. And unlike the NF grinding, it's not even required, so if you don't like it, just don't do it. There's plenty of other armour types in GW.), I love the new monk skills (Healing Ribbon & Spotless Soul are quite useful), the consumables (except for the one which gets you a skillpoint while costing one skillpoint - umm?), I love some of the new weapon skins.
And I didn't even have any time to look at the mini games. I'm quite sure I'll love those, too.
I was a bit afraid of The Eye of the North after not liking Nightfall the least bit, but all my worries were unneccessary. This game is brilliant, ANet, you've outdone yourselves. Congrats and thanks!
I don't like the fact that I'll have to wait until the 3rd to play. (Can't get back to GW:EN on the 31st yet due to removing... >_<)
And I hope that there'll be some more "new" foes (as opposed to the already well-known Pinesouls, Centaurs, etc. I liked the various cow-thingies!) later in the game. Can't wait to see the other areas.

It was a wild wild weekend. More wild than that time in college >_> <_<
The titles were fun, the gfx were super sweet, the locales so pretty and rich. The lore, story and adventures so memorable. Weapons and items amusing, distgusting and loveable.
9/10 joys 1/10 peeves (1 on 1 needs to be tuned up so all classes have a chance and 2 classes dont just cakewalk it)
The bunnies, oh the bunnies :-) I saw it, i chased it, I thought wow its so pretty down here.... it's a trap!
Dungeons were FANTASTIC! My only gripe with Dungeons is this "high end" loot seemed a little low end. But I reallu enjoyed the feeling of running around down in them, solving puzzles and making my way along.
I think to myself every so often, what do I want in GW, what would benefit me, others and not ruin the game or tip its balance. I think ppl at anet read my mind because GW:EN had many things I always wanted.
xoxo

I had a blast
I do think this is better then any campaign release yet.
*A little disappointed* in HoM but I can live with it.
End Result = Going to focus on just 1 character.
Some of the many highlights
1vs1 Norn Battles, Dwarf Boxing, very diverse quests, re-introducing Gwen (hero) was very well done (plus the little touches with her), Norn Drinking games, very good quest rewards, non "fed ex" quests. 10 new hero's (only found 4 so far) and more.

I had a blast this past weekend.
I thought the quests for the heroes you unlock in the Arena was a nice touch to give them more personality. The repeatable quests in the Dungeons is also a nice touch.
I'm going to be franticly trying to ascend this week and unlock my other secondaries this week while a wait for the GW:EN. I can't wait to return to the Eye and start hunting some Charr on their own turf.

I enjoyed playing the expansion and look forward to buying the game when it hits the stores. Beforehand I wasn't all that thrilled about playing through more Shiverpeak areas but the locations in the expansion have some of the best looking winter stuff I've seen in GW so far. It looks great and I only checked out a few areas.
As for complainers, they're usually the most vocal and thus seem to be a bigger mob. Personally I would never have made any 'positive' response about EotN if it wasn't for this thread. I just want to play it, not post a bunch of stuff about it.

This was really good, IMO - just the right mix of mission difficulties, lots of interesting new territory, some good farming spots, some nice long quest chains, a little bit of something for everyone.
Good job ANet - I'd rather this kind of expansion than a half-assed new chapter, any time.

I had a blast. Wasn't really too fond of Factions or Nightfall but EotN was like playing Proph all over again, but better. Love the environment, the npcs, the quests.. all of it.
Nice work Anet!

I love it! This is a top notch job, not that any of the campaigns were shoddy, but it's good to be home.
That first mission *defend the wall* lol
The dialogue was perfect, and run run good times again
I couldn't find anything to complain about hmmmm works for me
The art, the music, and storyline. Can't wait for Friday
No game company is perfect, but Anet does a great job.
Sorry I can't find a complaint for anyone

I was very impressed by the dungeons. I can't wait to do them in Hard Mode. Remnant of Antiquities, in particular, should be a lot of fun at level 32 with halved cast and recharge for the Diamondshard skills. Like many people, I find the quests a bit too easy, but that's because I've spent the last six months playing solely in Hard Mode.
The only thing I really find worth complaining about is that some of the PvE skills are perhaps a bit too strong. "You Move Like a Dwarf!" is way too powerful as a semi-spammable ranged knockdown, Dwarven Stability gives infinite Serpent's Quickness and immunity to knockdown, which is just too good. Black Powder Mine is an awesome trap. "Finish Him!" + Body Shot is a free deep wound + cracked armor + insane spike damage. "Dodge This!" is too powerful with Barrage or Volley as it triggers for every arrow (possibly a flaw). "By Ural's Hammer!" triggers for every ally: use it with a minion bomber hero, and you will have almost 100% +10 health regen and over +100% damage. Essentially, as a primary ranger, I have never felt more powerful.

GWEN Rules
Me likes:
1) The bunny
2) The other bunnies that turn rabid and attack
3) The berserking bison thundering past - you have to turn the music off sometimes just to hear things, trust me, its THUNDEROUS!
4) The berserking centaurs that really patrol but also from tree to tree in a snowstorm.
5) A particular image of berserking centaurs standing under a snow-laden tree with snow storm in the background against a massive mountain. Just the way I imagine they might act! Great!
6) I actually hate/still kinda hate the Prophecies Shiverpeaks, but this expansion drives me nuts with how great it is!
7) The blowing horn of the centaurs as they charge the HoM
8) The Nornbear cutscene - freaked me out as "someone" becomes the Nornbear. FREAK!
9) The Ursine and Wolf Aspects (sad about no forms and not liking the Raven) are great! As a rit, I can set up my spirits and end up with practically no energy, then supercharge myself and go running in to blast the crap outa stuff.
10) Not so sure about the giant snowballs, but it was damn DAMN funny to climb this massive hill to find a MASSIVE snowball rolling down at me. I was screaming for my heroes/henchies to get outa the way. No one died, have no idea how, but it was funny and FREAKING me out. GG ANet!
11) Hidden caves that actually "feel" like caves with bones and stuff
12) Entered a cave with a warning sign - this horrible howl sent me running for the entrance. Great!
13) I love the #13, so will stop here with a GG Anet, love the scenery, the music, the ambience, the Norn speaking to me (oh, and Engineer Xapp saying "Oh good, another Booka." -> condescending little shit).

Here here. I'm mostly sick of the poor babies whinging about the economy. Wow, rare skins are slightly less rare and are inscribable now... The only reason anyone could have a problem with that is if they actually care about making an extra 10k in monopoly money or if their self-esteem is such that they need the ego boost of having a piece of data that most other people can't easily get.
Well for all the kiddies that suddenly think they're economists, here's my take on it: The economy in Guild Wars is in such a state that the most valuable items are priced far, far above the maximum amount of gold you're allowed for a single transaction. Hence the economy of ectoplasms... items that only the absolute hardest of core farmers obtain in any real quantity. It's like the Stone of Jordan economy of Diablo II; if you aren't a member of a certain group, you're completely shut out because your money isn't green enough. If you reduce the rarity of an item, you reduce its demand, and therefore, you reduce its cost. If costs are reduced enough, eventually transactions will be done in gold and platinum, which will result in a massive influx of players with the capabilities to actually participate in the economy. More buyers and sellers means a healthier and more vibrant economy, and certainly a more stable one (could you imagine what would happen if A.net suddenly increased the drop rate of ectos?).
I'm in that strange penumbra of being devoted enough to have 10 characters at level 20, yet I play fairly casually (I've played Guild Wars for well over a year and have around 500 hours clocked). I've never gone farming for an item that wasn't involved in a quest. It does me no good that an item exists in such rarity that I will likely never see one. To me, that's content I'm missing out on.

I have not read through the entire thread yet, but here are some things that I liked.
The BUNNIES!! Those cute little furry things gave me a good surprise.
The solo quests. All of them are fun, and interesting. I couldn't bring myself to finishing the task of drink and round up the pigs! I got a little too sick from the screen effects...
The warning signs. Just thought they are funny to have around.
The attitudes of NPCs. It adds lots of flavor to the game. (does anyone else think that Jora looks a little like Jeri Ryan?)
The music. I like it.
Great work overall.

Thyeve been in the game yes but the only ones required to do anything where a few primaries. Now theres 3 primaries that are part of 1 primary. Maybe not all but thats just an example.
The game is called GUILD wars not quest wars.

The only reason you need titles is to get armor or weapons with a different skin (you already have access to the highest al armor so it’s not that big of a deal) and to improve some of your PvE skills (which you already have access to hundreds of skills that require attribute levels and not a title). Really, they do not take away from the game, they simply give you something to work towards if you want to, it is not required.

youre opinion that it wasnt. Just like its my opinion that it is. they are OPINIONS and we are all entitled to them.

Now that he’s been put into his place, I just want to say what a fun weekend. Everything was so amazing it drowned out all of the flaws in HoM (which is probably not going to be the final piece). Job well done Anet! and I definitely want to praise the art team. Those dungeons are beautiful. I took many pictures

youre funny. you think you put me in my place??? seriously? lol.
When quoting someones point you should quote the whole point not just the part that makes yours look like you know what youre talking about.
the part I said that about is that OP says OP is sick of people whining about the game or w/e so my comment was that OP shouldnt play any MMORPGs because you will NOT get away from them.
The game over all to me is fun enough to play but IMO(yes MY opinion. which im entitled to wether you like it or not) it IS a quest grind fest same as titles.
Sure the titles are optional but I shouldnt have to get a bunch of titles that I could care less about to get GWEN armor.

This I can agree on I followed the bunny down the rabbit hole and met Alice.
And BAM 50 red dots appear. they didnt drop anything good though unfortunately but I taught them not to mess with me.
The Kilroy guy was funny too. Im thinking Leeroys long lost cousin.

I don't care about the squabble, but I agree that I don't want to have to farm points for a title so I can get armor. Make the cost higher or more materials, but don't make it a farm-fest.
All else about GWEN was pretty damn good! Thanks A-Net.

For the most part I do agree that GWEN is pretty good. I still think Proph is best but this one is not bad. I just dont care for having to grind titles for new armor and having to complete 3 primary quests before I can do the main primary.

There is only one word that sum GW:EN up in a nut shell "EXCELLENT". Every aspect of the expansion was 100% pure Guild Wars Pwn. I loved every minute of it and I can't wait until I can go back there. I spent the whole weekend in the dark trying to stop sunglare on my Monitor lol. I could not get enough of it. I even loved the fact that you have to get a certain rank in Norn etc to have access to the armor, as I am praying it will stop people standing in the middle of a outpost shouting LFRUNNER!. What is the point in that play the game and enjoy it.
GW:EN is Amazing. Kudos to the person at ANET that thought of the Killer bunnies and of course KILLROY STOOOONESKIN!!!, and also the Dual Prof Monsters brilliant
thank you ANET
